Manual Tester – APIs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design and document test cases based on user stories, acceptance criteria, technical specifications, and API contracts.

• Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation tests on APIs and microservices architectures.

• Validate API requests and responses, HTTP codes, headers, JSON/XML payloads, and business rules.

• Verify integrations between microservices, external systems, databases, and messaging components.

• Record, document, and track defects.

• Prepare testing evidence, execution reports, and quality metrics.

• Collaborate with Development, QA, Product, and Architecture teams to analyze and resolve incidents.

• Validate data at the database level.

• Maintain and update test cases, test plans, and documentation.

• Participate in validating deployments and conducting tests in QA, UAT, and controlled Production environments.

• Ensure the quality of software solutions in collaboration with the development team.

• Support testing, automation, programming, and software deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Knowledge of REST API architecture and SOAP services.

• Understanding of microservices architectures and integration flows between systems.

• Service contract validation using Swagger/OpenAPI.

• Basic understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API Keys.

• Experience in log analysis and traceability.

• Basic knowledge of performance, load, and stress testing.

• Experience with ALM / Quality Center, Jira, and Trello.

• Azure DevOps experience is desirable.

• Experience with Postman, SOAP UI, and Swagger/OpenAPI.

• Insomnia experience is desirable.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of JMeter.

• Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data validation, queries, and information reconciliation.

• Git proficiency.

• Experience conducting API tests in distributed environments and microservices architectures.

• Basic knowledge of API test automation using Postman/Newman, Karate, or Rest Assured.

• Familiarity with Kibana, Grafana, Splunk, or Dynatrace.

• Experience validating integrations between APIs, databases, and asynchronous messaging systems.

• Ability to work under pressure with a focus on quality and results.
