Manual Tester – 3 Month FTC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive testing of developed web applications against defined requirements across various desktop browsers and mobile devices, ensuring compatibility across platforms and a smooth user experience.

• Document, track, and manage defects to guarantee clarity, traceability, and prompt resolution.

• Maintain effective communication with development teams and stakeholders.

• Create and update manual testing documentation, which includes test plans, test cases, test scenarios, manual test scripts, and defect reports.

• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and engage in defect triage sessions.

• Monitor test progress in relation to release timelines and manage workloads to adhere to deadlines.

• Evaluate test environments, coverage, and manual QA processes to foster continuous enhancement.

• Provide precise estimates for manual testing efforts to aid in project planning and ensure timely delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Manual QA, encompassing testing of web applications, cross-browser functional testing, and a solid understanding of bug tracking and reporting tools.

• Capability to create and sustain detailed manual test documentation, which includes test plans, test cases, manual test scripts, test scenarios, and defect reports.

• Fundamental knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to facilitate effective web application testing and defect reporting.

• Proficient understanding of BDD-style acceptance criteria and test scenario creation.

• Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to assist in test planning, reporting, and documentation.

• Quick thinking, adaptability under pressure, and effective management of tight deadlines.

• Exceptional interpersonal and organizational abilities, enabling close collaboration with developers, stakeholders, and broader project teams.

• Experience working within an Agile environment.

• Comfortable working on both PC and Mac platforms.

• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.

• Educational qualification at the degree level.
