This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic oversight and direction to the Fund Accounting Department.
• Lead Senior Vice Presidents (SVPs) and potentially Vice Presidents (VPs), offering leadership, vision, and technical guidance.
• Oversee fund accounting operations, ensuring high-quality work and client satisfaction.
• Drive initiatives for technical and developmental training.
• Collaborate with business development on sales presentations and identify new service opportunities.
• Promote continuous improvement in the operating model, including exploring Artificial Intelligence opportunities.
• Engage with industry associations and events.
• Advise executives and management on personnel management, goal setting, policy development, and strategic implementation.
• Develop and implement the annual Strategic Plan.
• Participate in daily, monthly, and quarterly executive management meetings.
• Conceptualize and execute initiatives that support business objectives.
• Ensure adequate resources for timely reporting to clients and NASDAQ.
• Establish long-term goals, strategies, plans, and policies with the Executive team.
• Recommend fund allocations, process improvements, and system upgrades.
• Ensure the training team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to enhance departmental knowledge.
• Review regulatory compliance and suggest changes to accounting procedures.
• Coordinate departmental disaster recovery initiatives.
• Support independent SOC1 audits by conducting research, providing documentation, answering questions, and coordinating with the team.
• Review operational controls and update procedures accordingly.
• Oversee hiring, training, development, delegation, performance evaluations, salary recommendations, coaching, counseling, and corrective actions.
• Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings.
• Establish both team and individual goals.
• Foster a culture of performance and accountability among managers and associates.
• Communicate company information and changes effectively.
• Mentor through instruction, coaching, modeling, and advising.
• Oversee client requests and ensure that client needs are met.
• Communicate with fund administration, transfer agencies, and custodians regarding fund accounting activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Over 15 years of experience in a related field.
• More than 10 years in strategic senior leadership positions.
• Equivalent education, experience, and Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) will be considered.
• Expertise in fund accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Knowledge of complex asset types including derivatives, bank loans, and private assets.
• Familiarity with financial industry terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Willingness to work beyond the typical work hours as business needs arise.
• Ability to sit and stand regularly.
• Capability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities are required.
• Occasional travel (approximately 10% or less) may be necessary.
