This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the Fannie Mae Delegated Underwriting and Servicing (DUS) agency lending platform.
• Define the strategic direction, enhance operational excellence, and achieve production objectives for the Fannie Mae business division.
• Advocate on behalf of DUS lenders by engaging in the DUS CEO peer group.
• Collaborate with senior management to establish annual production targets and track performance.
• Work alongside Fannie Mae Customer Engagement regarding waiver requests, pricing adjustments, guide modifications, and transaction structuring.
• Supervise underwriting, processing, and closing operations while upholding high credit standards and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Manage a portfolio that exceeds $1B in Fannie Mae and balance sheet loans, which includes permanent, construction, and bridge financing.
• Evaluate, size, and quote new loan requests to enhance turnaround time and deal acquisition.
• Attract and retain developers and multifamily investors by leveraging expertise in construction and bridge lending.
• Develop databases for clients, brokers, and properties to support pipeline stability and origination volume.
• Foster internal referral networks across branches and departments.
• Support Relationship Managers with marketing efforts, waiver/pricing requests, and asset management concerns.
• Build correspondent partnerships with lenders and brokers.
• Keep an eye on industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitive factors.
• Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and community events.
• Bachelor's degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred.
• Over 15 years of experience in Banking, Finance, or a related field.
• More than 10 years of experience in multifamily agency lending, particularly with Fannie Mae DUS programs.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and expand an origination platform.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
• Proven track record in developing and managing talent.
• Exceptional client relationship and sales skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments effectively.
• In-depth credit training and underwriting expertise.
• Established history of originating and closing complex transactions.
• Competence in engaging effectively with senior executives both internally and externally.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Fannie Mae DUS program guidelines and agency lending procedures.
• Strong credit analysis and underwriting skills specific to multifamily transactions.
• Proven experience in managing large loan portfolios and intricate deal structures.
• Outstanding leadership and team development abilities.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to influence industry peers and advocate for platform improvements.
• Advanced relationship-building and negotiation skills with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Capacity to balance risk management with business growth goals.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to effectively manage competing priorities.
