📋 Description

• Oversee professional-level employees and/or direct reports tasked with managing claims in a multi-disciplinary setting.

• Establish strategic direction and assist direct reports in tactical management and initiative execution.

• Support intricate strategic, transformational, and growth projects.

• Lead initiatives that span products, brands, functions, and digital transformation.

• Provide a premier customer experience for voluntary benefits.

• Supervise leaders and/or individual contributors across various lines of business, products, and brands.

• Oversee team selection, training, resource capacity, job design, career development, coaching, and performance management.

• Foster leadership capabilities throughout the organization.

• Ensure precise claims adjudication in accordance with contract/plan provisions, procedures, state regulations, and risk management practices.

• Conduct file reviews and authorize payments based on claim manual/practice protocols.

• Collaborate with business leaders, project managers, and subject matter experts to identify opportunities and develop solutions.

• Monitor expenditures and pinpoint operational efficiency opportunities.

• Analyze results and trends, address profitability issues, and propose solutions.

• Implement enhancements in customer service, productivity, and quality.

• Promote a customer-centric culture, operational excellence, process management, and efficiency.

• Track, measure, report, and assess external partner performance.

• Work with external partners on training, workflow modifications, and implementation.

• Ensure compliance of external partners with company and departmental policies.

• Support sales efforts through RFPs, customer finalist presentations, broker education and training, and sales/marketing materials.

• Act as a backup for the Director/VP during their absences.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred college degree along with 5-7 years of progressively responsible management experience.

• Demonstrated strong leadership abilities, including guiding others in setting direction, monitoring performance, and communicating changes effectively.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, dynamic environment employing change management practices.

• Exceptional relationship and communication skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate across all levels and geographic markets.

• Strong customer service orientation with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, time-management, and decision-making capabilities.

• Familiarity with change management principles.

• Ability to discern opportunities and implement effective solutions.

• Capacity to think conceptually, navigate ambiguity, resolve complex issues, and provide thoughtful recommendations.

• Proven success in developing others.

• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.

• Project management skills are preferred.

• Experience in risk management is preferred.

• Related professional designations are preferred.

• Prior claims experience, both product and system, is preferred.

• Knowledge of the employee and voluntary benefits industry is preferred.
