This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and maintain relationships with investor-owned utilities, electric cooperatives, and municipal utilities within CleanSpark's existing and target markets.
• Oversee large-load service applications and the interconnection process, which includes studies, agreements, deposits, and tracking milestones.
• Negotiate and oversee electric service agreements and related utility contracts in collaboration with the Legal team.
• Conduct tariff and rate analyses; create models for power cost scenarios and rate structures for both prospective and operational sites.
• Evaluate utility capacity, queue positions, and plans for transmission and distribution expansion to guide site selection and prioritization.
• Assist with power-related due diligence for both inbound and outbound opportunities alongside the Site Selection and Onsite Generation teams.
• Keep track of regulatory proceedings, rate cases, and developments in large-load tariffs that impact CleanSpark's portfolio.
• Act as CleanSpark's representative in discussions on utility planning and industry forums.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and industry training will also be taken into account.
• Six to ten years or more of experience in utility relations, energy procurement, interconnection, or power markets.
• Proven experience leading large-load applications and negotiating utility service or interconnection agreements.
• Proficiency in tariff structures, rate design, and utility cost modeling.
• Solid understanding of the structures and decision-making processes of investor-owned, cooperative, and municipal utilities.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional coordination abilities.
• Openness to travel across the United States.
• Experience working with data centers, mining operations, or other large flexible-load clients.
• Familiarity with organized wholesale markets (ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM) and transmission planning.
• Existing connections with utilities in CleanSpark's operational areas.
