This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Lead a team of subcontract professionals in support of various programs, customers, or business areas.
• Provide daily leadership, coaching, performance management, and facilitate employee development.
• Oversee the complete subcontract lifecycle, from planning and solicitation to award, administration, and closeout.
• Collaborate with program leadership and cross-functional teams to meet technical, schedule, financial, and compliance goals.
• Address escalated supplier, contractual, and performance challenges.
• Monitor subcontract risks, performance metrics, documentation, and readiness for audits.
• Promote process enhancements, standardization, operational excellence, and functional efficiency.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and workforce development initiatives.
• Lead prominent subcontract efforts and represent the function in meetings and reviews.
• Travel of up to 25% may be necessary.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of related management experience; or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of relevant management experience; or, alternatively, a minimum of 13 years of related management experience in the absence of a degree.
• Previous experience in a formal people management position.
• Experience in supporting defense, aerospace, or U.S. Government contracting programs.
• In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CPSR expectations, and subcontract compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, and time-and-materials subcontracts.
• Experience in cost analysis, price analysis, negotiation strategy formulation, and supplier risk management.
• Proven experience managing high-value or critical subcontract portfolios.
• Experience in ensuring audit readiness, internal controls, purchasing system reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Understanding of earned value, funding profiles, program controls, and supplier performance metrics.
• Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and export compliance regulations.
• Demonstrated success in talent development, coaching, mentoring, and building team capabilities.
