Manager, Software Engineering – International

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand a full-stack engineering team based in Europe, responsible for delivering Affirm’s direct-to-consumer products across global markets.

• Manage the entire software lifecycle from strategy formulation to production for the Affirm App and other Direct-to-Consumer offerings.

• Develop the technical roadmap and convert international growth objectives into actionable engineering plans.

• Recruit, nurture, and retain engineers at various levels while establishing pathways for career advancement.

• Promote cross-functional collaboration with product, design, data science, and business partners across different time zones.

• Set standards for system reliability, performance, and scalability for products that serve millions of consumers.

• Cultivate a culture of ownership, curiosity, AI-driven productivity, and thorough impact assessment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering.

• More than 4 years of experience leading and developing engineering teams within a product-oriented environment.

• Proven history of launching and scaling consumer-facing products, preferably in direct-to-consumer or fintech sectors.

• Experience in building high-performing distributed teams.

• Significant experience in developing engineers and providing clarity in fast-paced, ambiguous situations.

• Ability to influence and align stakeholders across product, design, and business sectors.

• Experience in international or multi-market product development.

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong and confident communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
