Manager, Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead the Aktiv development team and drive technical innovation.

• Manage, mentor, and guide a team of high-performing engineers.

• Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful team environment.

• Provide ongoing feedback, address performance issues, recognize contributions, and monitor team health through regular one-on-ones.

• Spearhead strategic initiatives, balancing high-impact projects with technical debt management while effectively allocating resources.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to outline roadmaps, prioritize backlogs, and deliver high-quality, customer-centric products.

• Promote continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, and team processes.

• Resolve conflicts, facilitate team decision-making, and manage relationships across functions.

• Ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions across various platforms and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a minimum of 7 years of industry experience in building and shipping software.

• Proven track record in leading software engineering teams, developing talent, and navigating complex technical challenges.

• Demonstrated experience in shipping both web and mobile products at scale.

• Prior hands-on experience as a software engineer.

• Preferred experience with Java and/or React.

• Strong capability to break down complex business problems into actionable technical strategies.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
