This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assemble, nurture, and guide a team of software engineers.
• Take ownership of engineers’ professional development through feedback, growth strategies, and advocacy for promotions.
• Collaborate with Product and cross-functional teams to define data models, system boundaries, and integration strategies.
• Drive the implementation of the technical roadmap using data-informed decisions, iterative product development, simplicity, and value delivery.
• Engage with business stakeholders to grasp objectives and translate them into technical architecture and specifications.
• Assess product scopes and timelines.
• Work together on scalable, stable, efficient, maintainable, and extensible technical solutions.
• Propel progress when requirements, ownership, or system boundaries are still being established.
• Remove obstacles for teams by providing structure without awaiting perfect information.
• Over 9 years of experience in software development.
• At least 3 years of experience in managing engineers as a primary responsibility.
• Proven ability to navigate change and shifting priorities.
• Comfortable advancing progress in the face of ambiguous requirements.
• Experience managing teams within a cloud-based technology stack, preferably AWS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Demonstrated success in working asynchronously and remotely.
• Capability to collaborate across various disciplines.
• Enthusiasm for fostering the development of engineers in a comprehensive range of professional skills.
• Skill in balancing the urgency of proof-of-concept with the development of robust, ideal systems.
• Experience leading organization-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing engineering outcomes.
• Background in an early-stage or scale-up company is preferred.
• Experience in the healthcare sector is a plus.
