This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Oversee the gathering of insurance underwriting information.
• Evaluate and interpret insurance submission materials.
• Offer recommendations regarding the suitable treatment of exposures.
• Collect, assess, and distribute post-renewal documentation, which includes binders, policies, endorsements, and policy-posting materials.
• Assist in managing claims across all policies, focusing primarily on general liability, auto, and workers’ compensation claims.
• Collaborate with Legal, Human Resources, and adjusters throughout the claims procedure.
• Act as the main point of contact for requests and issuance of Certificates of Insurance.
• Maintain and oversee the issuance of certificates to counterparties following the annual renewal process.
• Support Legal and Procurement by evaluating insurance requirements.
• Provide guidance on suitable insurance provisions for counterparties.
• Assist with construction financing endeavors.
• Collaborate in developing training materials for internal managers.
• Execute other related tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Stay updated on risk management, insurance, and pertinent industry trends.
• Report directly to the Director of Risk Management.
• Collaborate with various departments within the organization to administer, monitor, and enhance risk management programs.
• A BA/BS degree is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of experience in a related risk management position is required; 3–5 years is preferred.
• 7–10 years of underwriting or broker service experience may be considered equivalent experience.
• Strong expertise in liability lines, including general liability, auto, workers’ compensation, and umbrella coverage.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work independently.
• Strong organizational abilities and effective prioritization skills across multiple projects.
• Some travel will be necessary.
• Ability to operate vehicles for Company business.
• A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening is necessary.
