Manager, Revenue Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise order management and revenue operations.

• Ensure accurate booking of customer contracts and correct recognition of revenue.

• Guarantee the seamless functioning of the order-to-cash process.

• Lead the team dedicated to order management and revenue accounting.

• Own and uphold the formal revenue recognition policy.

• Conduct research and document technical accounting positions and memoranda.

• Manage standalone selling price methodologies and allocation strategies.

• Oversee the review of complex and strategic customer contracts, providing guidance on deal structure.

• Collaborate with Legal, Sales, and Order Management on structuring deals.

• Own the monthly revenue close process, including flux and variance analysis.

• Prepare explanations for revenue movements aimed at executive and board-level audiences.

• Manage reconciliations for deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and contract assets/liabilities.

• Design and enhance internal controls over the quote-to-cash cycle.

• Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors regarding revenue issues.

• Prepare financial statement disclosures related to revenue and supporting schedules.

• Provide management reporting and analysis for FP&A, executives, and the board.

• Drive automation and process transformation initiatives within the revenue close and order-to-cash processes.

• Utilize AI tools for tasks such as contract term extraction, reconciliation matching, anomaly detection, and variance narratives.

• Lead the strategy for improvements in revenue-related systems in collaboration with Engineering/Business Systems.

• Maintain proficiency in ERP, CRM, and revenue subledger systems, including system integrations or migrations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in revenue accounting, order management, or a similar accounting function.

• Proven history of promoting AI adoption within a team or function, leveraging AI tools for automating order processing and revenue recognition workflows.

• In-depth understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and their application to SaaS or subscription contracts.

• Experience in managing or leading a team of accounting or order management professionals.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Legal, and FP&A teams.

• Strong attention to detail with a successful track record of managing accurate and timely month-end close processes.

• CPA or progress towards CPA certification is preferred.

• Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, or subscription-based business models is preferred.

• Familiarity with ERP and CPQ systems is preferred.

• Experience with AI-powered accounting or revenue automation tools is preferred.
