Manager, Pharmacy Technicians

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee the triage process for prior authorizations.

• Supervise pharmacy technicians effectively.

• Manage the workflow within the department.

• Identify and create procedures and policies for prior authorizations.

• Collaborate with various departments to investigate and resolve escalated complaints and inquiries.

• Monitor prior authorization processes, suggesting modifications to existing policies and procedures as needed.

• Ensure operational integrity and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

• Track prior authorization activities and assess appropriate staffing levels.

• Supervise departmental performance and evaluate reports and audit findings.

• Ensure that provider notification letters are delivered accurately and promptly.

• Conduct quality control checks and offer recommendations for enhancements.

• Communicate with providers and pharmacies regarding the clinical outcomes of prior authorization requests.

• Manage multiple pharmacy systems to monitor and triage prior authorization requests for Medicaid and coverage determination requests for Medicare D recipients.

• Ascertain if a pharmacist review is necessary.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Adhere to all policies and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without the necessity of employment-based visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

• An associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.

• A minimum of 4 years of pharmacy technician experience in a mail order prescription facility, hospital pharmacy, or retail pharmacy setting is essential.

• At least 1 year of combined experience in a lead or supervisory role and customer service is required.

• A current state Pharmacy Technician license is preferred.

• National Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) is preferred.
