This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Supervise and lead the payroll team using a centralized service delivery model.
• Propel the payroll function towards an innovative and proactive operational framework.
• Recognize and implement operational efficiencies, industry best practices, and technological enhancements.
• Manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, auditors, and local and national governmental agencies.
• Oversee the successful execution of multi-state payroll operations across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
• Collaborate across departments with service delivery teams to enhance customer solutions and ensure accurate, comprehensive, and compliant payroll services.
• Partner with outsourced offshore teams to assist with complex payroll challenges.
• Influence, persuade, and negotiate with key stakeholders effectively.
• Prepare, communicate, and educate client groups and teams regarding changes in payroll policies and practices.
• Consult with business leaders and regional partner resource heads to develop payroll strategies and programs.
• Ensure that North American associates receive accurate and timely payments, with statutory deductions and returns submitted punctually.
• Oversee payroll processing, payroll tax reporting, payroll accounting, record retention, and process enhancements.
• Advise internal departments on compliance with North American payroll regulations, taxes, withholding, benefits, labor laws, and payroll responsibilities.
• Support the optimization of payroll team structure and standardization of reports, documents, and processes.
• Ensure that associates and outsourced teams adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
• Plan, document, and implement new processes in response to emerging activities or regulations.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership support to members of the outsourced team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in payroll management.
• Over 5 years of experience managing multi-entity and multi-country payroll.
• Proficient understanding of payroll regulations related to payroll and tax, including compensable income, fringe benefits, and stock vesting.
• Knowledgeable in navigating vendor relationships with third-party payroll service providers and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Ability to understand and address unique characteristics of specific local payrolls.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with associates at all organizational levels.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
• Payroll experience with the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico is preferred.
• Familiarity with ADP Global View, Workday, and SAP is preferred.
