Manager, Networking – Core Networking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and guide the Core Networking team while providing technical direction.

• Formulate and implement the organization's global network strategy encompassing LAN, WAN, wireless, internet, MPLS, cloud networking, VoIP, and security services.

• Design, execute, manage, and support enterprise networking technologies across global data centers and branch locations.

• Establish and uphold network standards, policies, architectural frameworks, and technology roadmaps.

• Ensure the availability of secure, resilient, scalable, and highly available network environments through monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.

• Spearhead network expansion, modernization, and infrastructure enhancement initiatives.

• Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of complex incidents involving routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, VPN connectivity, and related services.

• Act as the senior escalation point and incident owner for critical networking and infrastructure issues until resolution and root cause analysis are achieved.

• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Systems, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, Facilities Networking, Support teams, business stakeholders, and third-party providers.

• Assess and supervise the implementation of emerging networking technologies, hardware, and software platforms.

• Manage vendor relations, contract negotiations, service agreements, and partner performance.

• Keep technical documentation, architectural diagrams, operational procedures, and configuration standards up to date.

• Enhance efficiency through automation, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Conduct infrastructure health assessments and propose improvements for reliability, performance, scalability, and security.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

• Preferred industry certifications include CCNP, CCIE, Palo Alto, Fortinet, AWS, Azure, or other pertinent networking certifications.

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive enterprise networking experience, encompassing leadership or team management roles.

• Profound understanding of enterprise network architecture, including WAN/LAN, MPLS, internet connectivity, network security, cloud networking, and resilient global network design.

• Advanced knowledge of routing and switching technologies, such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, route maps, ACLs, route redistribution, traffic engineering, VLANs, STP, and PoE.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting modern data center networking technologies, including Spine-Leaf architecture, VXLAN, and EVPN.

• Familiarity with VPN technologies, including IPsec and multi-vendor environments.

• Proven experience in implementing and supporting enterprise firewall and network access control solutions, including Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, and Cisco ISE.

• Strong understanding of internal, external, and global load-balancing technologies.

• Ability to lead strategic initiatives, manage competing priorities, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences.

• Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, storage networking (FCoE, iSCSI, NVMe/TCP), disaster recovery, Active Directory, and Windows/Linux server environments is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

• Proficient in using Windows PCs, Microsoft O365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and web conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom, Webex).

• Preferred experience with Cisco ISR/ASR, DMVPN, Meraki, Arista, and VeloCloud.
