This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Expert/Senior Observability Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs).
• Define and implement the enterprise observability strategy, guiding the organization’s transition to IBM Instana, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Manage vendor relationships, software licensing, cloud consumption costs, and departmental budgets.
• Serve as the delivery leader for observability engineering projects utilizing Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Oversee backlog management, sprint planning, and resource capacity for engineering teams.
• Apply PMP best practices to manage the onboarding of the FOAK platform, tool migrations, and multi-cloud telemetry integrations.
• Advocate for ITIL v4 practices and ensure compliance with Change, Incident, and Problem Management protocols.
• Act as the Senior Escalation Manager during P1/P2 Major Incidents, coordinating war rooms and driving Root Cause Analysis efforts.
• Automate operational tasks and integrate observability tools with ServiceNow.
• Govern enterprise Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Error Budgets.
• Provide technical leadership for Kubernetes observability, telemetry pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code using Ansible/Terraform.
• Ensure observability platforms comply with enterprise security, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with leaders in Application, Cloud, Security, and DevOps to embed observability into CI/CD pipelines.
• Oversee Knowledge Transfer and transition programs to ensure 24x7 operational readiness.
• 12+ years of overall IT experience.
• A minimum of 3-5 years in managing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Observability, or Cloud Infrastructure teams directly.
• Demonstrated success in managing enterprise-scale IT transformation projects and complex vendor transitions.
• Extensive experience in heavily regulated, 24x7 enterprise environments utilizing structured service delivery models.
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of PMP/Project Management methodologies.
• Familiarity with ITIL v4 principles.
• Experience with ITSM tools, specifically ServiceNow.
• Competence in OKR tracking.
• Skills in Budget and Vendor Management.
• Strong conceptual understanding of IBM Instana, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Telegraf, and InfluxDB.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Multi-Cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), Linux, and legacy monitoring tools (Netcool, SolarWinds).
• Understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible/Terraform).
• Required/Highly Preferred Certifications: ITIL 4 Foundation / Managing Professional; Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM); Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent Agile/Project management certification.
