Manager, ML Solutions Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Lead a regional team of 8 Solutions Architects in the EU, overseeing 1:1 meetings, goal-setting, performance evaluations, promotion cases, and development plans.

• Assign accounts and projects based on team members' expertise and interests.

• Identify obstacles and collaborate with development, product, and business teams to address them.

• Hold team members responsible for delivery results and factor their performance into ratings and compensation decisions.

• Onboard and mentor Solutions Architects to promote independent delivery and broaden their scope.

• Take ownership of delivery results, including PoC-to-endpoint duration, success criteria achievement rate, and post-production technical relationships.

• Review benchmarking methods, service configurations, results, and closure documents prior to customer delivery.

• Ensure adequate staffing and escalation coverage across accounts and time zones.

• Proactively identify infeasibilities using evidence.

• Maintain and enhance documentation, runbooks, guides, onboarding materials, definitions of done, and closure templates.

• Ensure proper utilization of documentation and that ticket tracking remains the official record.

• Define and communicate metrics related to delivery speed and reliability.

• Convert recurring customer challenges into prioritized platform tasks for development and research teams.

• Manage the boundaries between scoping and execution with pre-sales activities.

• Coordinate production transitions and post-sales technical inquiries with account management.

• Report on account health, technical feasibility, and capacity requirements to business and leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience managing technical teams, including performance management and handling challenging conversations.

• Proven experience leading a customer-facing team.

• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts: LLM architectures, SFT/LoRA, RL-based fine-tuning, evaluation design, quantization, KV-cache management, batching, routing, speculative decoding, vLLM, SGLang, and TensorRT-LLM.

• Technical acumen to assess benchmark methodologies and identify potential flaws.

• Proficient in Python to the extent of reading and reviewing code.

• Excellent communication skills suitable for diverse audiences, including enterprise customers in high-pressure situations.

• Ability to handle documentation, process design, reporting, and operational follow-through effectively.

• Comfort with ambiguity while collaborating across distributed teams and time zones.

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the country where they apply and provide proof of their employment eligibility.

• Bonus qualifications include experience in rapid team scaling, customer-facing technical roles at a cloud/inference/AI infrastructure provider, production LLM operations, multimodal AI, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
