This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic and operational leadership for medication access services, encompassing prior authorizations, patient assistance programs, and collaboration with care teams.

• Guarantee high-quality, compliant, and efficient medication access services that support patient outcomes, client objectives, and organizational goals.

• Act as the primary liaison among Medication Access Team Supervisors, medication access teams, clinic and pharmacy leadership, providers, clinical staff, payers, and external partners.

• Foster collaboration to eliminate barriers to therapy, enhance medication access, and ensure timely, coordinated care.

• Offer subject matter expertise in medication access and affordability services.

• Report on operational trends and provide regular updates to clinic leadership.

• Lead and refine workflows for medication benefit investigations, insurance authorizations, insurance coverage monitoring, and communication of coverage challenges and resolution strategies.

• Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Medication Access Team Supervisor and daily operations of the team.

• Set performance expectations, ensure timely service delivery and follow-ups, while promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.

• Direct and manage medication access and affordability services across various client partnerships.

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop supervisors and team members.

• Monitor workflows, turnaround times, service outcomes, KPIs, and operational trends.

• Identify and address operational risks, workflow inefficiencies, and access barriers.

• Develop and continuously enhance standardized processes for client onboarding, referrals, benefit investigations, prior authorizations, documentation, tracking, and communication.

• Assess operations and implement improvements in efficiency, productivity, and service quality.

• Design, implement, and optimize medication access and affordability services in collaboration with clinic, pharmacy, and client teams.

• Provide education, guidance, and subject matter expertise to internal teams and client personnel.

• Contribute to the growth of organizational knowledge and capabilities as an internal expert in medication access, affordability, specialty pharmacy, and retail pharmacy operations.

• Support client development, service expansion, and project deliverables through established frameworks, best practices, and innovative strategies.

• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of pharmacy experience working with healthcare providers on strategic and operational initiatives.

• At least 1 year of experience in a health system pharmacy or specialty pharmacy setting.

• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or personnel management experience.

• State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration must be obtained within 2 months of the start date.

• Active CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

• Proven leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills.

• Capacity to build, manage, and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and complex initiatives simultaneously.

• Highly effective written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to make informed, timely decisions based on data analysis, experience, risk assessment, and organizational priorities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).

• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and healthcare technology platforms.

• Ability to establish credibility, build trust, and promote effective collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.

• Preferred: Graduate of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician training program.

• Preferred: Previous consulting, clinic, or client-facing experience.

• Preferred: Prior experience using the Epic Compass Rose Specialty Pharmacy patient management program.
