Manager, Medical – Scientific Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Business Development and Contracts & Proposals teams to assess and create Requests for Proposal (RFPs).

• Evaluate sponsor protocols to define imaging read criteria, workflows, and imaging charter requirements.

• Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external radiologist groups to ensure consistency, training, and operational readiness.

• Work together with departmental leaders to formulate project strategies, execution plans, and training initiatives.

• Spearhead cross-functional process enhancement efforts to boost quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

• Assist in developing new operational strategies that align therapeutic area practices with business objectives.

• Guide and develop members of the Medical Affairs team through mentoring, goal setting, and performance feedback.

• Create operational efficiencies by analyzing business, service, financial, and operational data.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to discover innovative solutions that increase client value and service delivery.

• Establish and nurture strong client relationships and facilitate scientific and operational discussions.

• Prepare capabilities presentations and engage in client bid defenses and business development activities.

• Aid in the development of research publications, scientific manuscripts, editorials, and thought leadership initiatives.

• Assess and implement advancements in imaging criteria, interpretation techniques, and central review methodologies.

• Address specialized client requests, including study case image presentations and scientific consultations.

• Serve as a representative for the Vice President of Medical Affairs when necessary.

• Conduct team training, set performance expectations, and promote a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

• Contribute to the development of SOPs, quality initiatives, audit readiness activities, and regulatory compliance efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Medical Imaging, Clinical Research, or a related field.

• An advanced degree is preferred.

• At least 8 years of experience in clinical research, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, or related industries.

• Experience in an Imaging CRO environment is required.

• Proven expertise in supporting multi-modality imaging clinical trials.

• Strong grasp of clinical trial operations, imaging workflows, and study execution.

• Experience collaborating with sponsors, clinicians, radiologists, and cross-functional operational teams.

• Background in evaluating and improving operational processes and business workflows.

• Familiarity with medical imaging software and imaging review platforms is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

• Demonstrated abilities in leadership, coaching, and team development.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation and client-facing capabilities.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.

• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities while managing multiple initiatives concurrently.
