Manager – Innovation and Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Drive strategic initiatives focused on innovation and transformation in AI, RPA, and Data Science.

• Identify potential opportunities for new products, services, processes, and technologies.

• Lead the implementation of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing efficiency, customer experience, and organizational growth.

• Oversee, mentor, and manage a team of application developers.

• Formulate innovation strategies in collaboration with senior leadership that align with company objectives.

• Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics.

• Investigate new business models, technologies, and practices.

• Manage multiple projects and initiatives alongside the Manager of PMO.

• Collaborate with business analysts, UX/UI designers, QA engineers, and IT operations teams.

• Gather requirements, define technical specifications, and ensure seamless application integration into the IT ecosystem.

• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in partnership with stakeholders and the Head of IT.

• Provide technical expertise on application architecture, design patterns, and technology stacks.

• Ensure that solutions adhere to coding standards, best practices, and security protocols.

• Advocate for continuous improvement, Agile methodologies, and development best practices.

• Allocate development personnel, tools, and technologies to achieve project objectives and deadlines.

• Ensure that applications undergo unit, integration, performance, and other forms of testing and validation.

• Communicate the status of development projects to business leaders, project managers, and stakeholders.

• Convert business requirements into technical solutions, explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Develop and manage project budgets for application development.

• Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Architecture certification is a significant advantage.

• 10+ years of experience in application development and transformation roles.

• 3–5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity.

• Demonstrated experience in managing software development teams and successfully delivering applications.

• Familiarity with application frameworks, development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs).

• Strong expertise in solution and technical architecture principles and philosophies.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Understanding of software architecture and design patterns, such as microservices, RESTful APIs, and database design.

• Experience with RPA, Data Science, and other advanced technologies and platforms.

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proven capacity to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

• Familiarity with project management tools like Jira and Trello.

• Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources efficiently.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience in guiding testing frameworks and delivering high-quality code.

• Knowledge of automated testing tools and CI/CD pipelines is an asset.

• Proficiency in English is required for collaboration, technical documentation, and engagement with international stakeholders, vendors, and technology partners.
