This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Facilitate communication and manage directives from senior management teams of members to AWG sales support personnel.
• Collaborate with AWG support teams to fulfill the objectives of member store groups.
• Oversee store resets, remodels, upgrades, new store constructions, and acquisitions.
• Assist member advertising efforts through both in-house and external advertising agencies.
• Conduct regular planned visits to stores to promote profitable sales growth and serve as a liaison between customers and the company.
• Analyze store departmental financial and operational statements and provide recommendations to members on operational strengths and weaknesses.
• Execute analysis and planning to set and achieve member goals, objectives, and priorities.
• Collaborate as an integral part of the AWG sales team.
• Evaluate competitors' merchandising strategies and offer strategic recommendations.
• Implement the Flawless Execution method for planning and communication; keep management updated and submit comprehensive, accurate reports on time.
• Create weekly advertisements in partnership with members, vendors, department managers, and buyers as assigned.
• Ensure that assigned stores make use of warehouse programs.
• Organize and support food show initiatives with member senior management teams.
• Oversee sales opportunities, out-buying, inventory management, and quality assurance.
• Educate retailers on AWG programs that enhance same-store sales and profitability.
• Develop and execute promotional and merchandising strategies for sustained success.
• Coordinate warehouse and member operations, advising membership and sales teams on effective and efficient practices.
• Provide comprehensive support to members in total store operations through cross-training.
• Experience in retail grocery stores or grocery wholesale is preferred.
• A degree is not mandatory; however, equivalent work experience in retail is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience in grocery retail or wholesale, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in reading and speaking fluent English.
• Capability to comprehend operating and maintenance instructions as well as procedural manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Skill in delivering presentations effectively before both small and large audiences.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret departmental financial and operational statements.
• Competence in calculating discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Aptitude for solving practical problems and managing diverse concrete situations.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Physical capability to drive, sit, stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and use taste or smell as necessary.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Comfort working around freezers, coolers, refrigerated areas, meat cutting, packing, and heavy machinery.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding AWG programs, policies, sanitation standards, FDA regulations, C.O.O.L. legislation, and other state and federal requirements.
