Manager, Fiscal Operations Advisory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Support public sector organizations, primarily cities, towns, counties, redevelopment commissions, and economic development agencies, with their public finance requirements.

• Oversee multiple projects concurrently.

• Contribute to management consulting initiatives through financial management reporting, budget formulation and analysis, capital project planning, comprehensive financial planning, municipal bond issuance, and associated client services.

• Collect and analyze data.

• Generate financial reports, conduct research, and perform analysis.

• Engage in client and working group meetings.

• Present information effectively to groups and clients.

• Mentor and guide skilled staff members.

• Build and maintain robust internal and external client relationships.

• Participate in client projects and aid in managing client relationships.

• Document and evaluate processes, internal controls, and workflows to uncover opportunities for improvement.

• Ensure alignment of personnel, processes, and technology with strategic objectives and priority service areas.

• Formulate tactical strategies to implement changes in strategy, service delivery, technology, and policy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or public administration.

• MBA/MPA is preferred but not mandatory.

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible consulting experience.

• At least one (1) year of experience as a project manager overseeing projects of similar scale.

• Familiarity with public sector operations.

• Specific knowledge or experience in a public sector environment, such as state or local government, public utilities, or K-12 education.

• Proven management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.

• Capability to deliver exceptional client service.

• Commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated on relevant strategies.

• Ability to understand both the broader context and finer details.

• Strong ethical standards and commitment.

• Sense of urgency and dedication to the quality and timely completion of tasks.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, primarily for same-day trips within the state.
