Manager, External Corporate Communications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the execution of communication strategies aligned with FICO Scores business objectives

• Facilitate both proactive and reactive media relations efforts

• Establish relationships with reporters, craft pitches, manage inbound inquiries, and pinpoint media opportunities

• Produce press releases, media pitches, bylined articles, blog posts, Q&As, talking points, presentations, briefing documents, social media content, and internal communications

• Create opportunities and content for executive visibility

• Prepare executives and subject matter experts for interviews, speeches, panels, podcasts, briefings, and other public engagements

• Collaborate with product teams, analytics, legal, marketing, sales, and other cross-functional partners

• Monitor media coverage, policy discussions, competitor activities, and industry trends

• Identify storytelling opportunities and highlight emerging issues or reputational risks

• Assist in communications related to product launches, research reports, partnerships, events, and significant business milestones

• Oversee assigned projects from planning to execution

• Assess and measure communication outcomes to enhance future initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or a related discipline

• 4–7+ years of experience in communications, media relations, public affairs, public relations, or a similar field

• Experience in financial services, fintech, technology, or another highly regulated sector is highly desirable

• Outstanding writing and editing abilities

• Proven experience in supporting media relations and cultivating relationships with reporters

• Skilled in developing executive communications and visibility initiatives

• Capacity to convert complex or technical information into clear, precise communications

• Ability to manage changing priorities while ensuring attention to detail and consistency in messaging

• Strong project management capabilities

• Good judgment regarding sensitive legal, regulatory, or reputational matters

• Familiarity with PR tools such as Muck Rack

• Proactive, inquisitive, highly collaborative, and comfortable taking initiative
