Manager – Environmental, Health & Safety

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Direct EH&S initiatives for Plasma Europe while assisting in the rollout of global and regional EH&S strategies and programs.

• Recognize and evaluate significant EH&S risks, and formulate and execute strategies for risk mitigation and prevention.

• Provide guidance and empower leadership and teams to enhance safety and health practices.

• Advocate for a sustainable EH&S culture and promote collaboration and communication across functions.

• Deliver clear reporting on EH&S risks, strategies, and performance metrics to senior management.

• Ensure adherence to EH&S regulations and compliance, including permits and reporting obligations.

• Offer technical EH&S counsel and review for facilities, processes, work procedures, equipment, and new projects.

• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of workplace conditions and ergonomics.

• Assist sites in integrating health, safety, and sustainability while continuously enhancing the EH&S system.

• Support change initiatives, improvement programs, new facilities, pilot projects, process optimizations, and Kaizen activities.

• Take charge of crisis and emergency management, occupational accidents, work-related illnesses, as well as environmental and wellbeing issues.

• Further develop and implement a comprehensive health and wellbeing management framework across the European CSL Plasma network.

• Design, manage, and oversee health programs while analyzing health metrics.

• Coordinate with company physicians, health service providers, health insurers, authorities, and the Wellbeing Champion network.

• Assist in global health and wellbeing initiatives and ensure their effective local execution.

• Aid in the recruitment, retention, training, and development of employees.

• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations across CSL Plasma sites in Europe.

• Manage and continually improve EH&S processes and systems.

• Oversee environmental permits and regulatory reporting obligations.

• Manage and monitor EH&S projects within capital and investment initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Engineering, Health Management, Occupational Sciences, or a related field.

• Certified Occupational Safety Specialist in accordance with the German Occupational Health and Safety Act (ASiG).

• Current knowledge of German and European EH&S legislation, along with statutory accident insurance (Berufsgenossenschaft) regulations.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar work environment.

• Experience in developing and implementing health and prevention programs within a regulated setting is a plus.

• Proficient to very good English language skills.
