• Transform two evolving roadmaps into a unified portfolio plan with clear priorities, capacity, and trade-offs.
• Establish leadership coverage to ensure that neither team remains a permanent secondary priority.
• Collaborate with Product to shape strategies and roadmaps for secure build, Docker Scout, Docker Hardened Images, and connecting services.

• Ensure that the technical direction aligns with product, security, reliability, and customer priorities.
• Manage interfaces between teams, focusing on trust boundaries, contracts, data quality, versioning, operational ownership, and customer-facing failure modes.
• Balance new product development with inherited systems and on-call duties, investing in improvements to reliability.
• Oversee engineer growth and performance, manage challenging conversations, recruit and retain top talent, and develop succession depth.
• Align with Product, Design, Security, DHI Content, Registry, Hub, sales, support, commercial, and legal partners.

• A leader-first operating model, combined with current technical judgment to engage in design and review across unfamiliar systems.
• Experience in prioritizing competing roadmaps, operational loads, and stakeholder commitments.
• Strong judgment in backend and distributed systems, including APIs, event-driven architectures, data stores, cloud-native infrastructure, and production operations.
• Knowledge of CI or build-system internals, containers, and artifact workflows, along with an interest in software supply-chain security and trust boundaries.
• Experience leading teams that operate production infrastructure through on-call duties, incident response, observability, SLOs, and the reduction of recurring operational loads.
• Strong product judgment and evidence of shaping roadmaps alongside Product teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, cross-functional influence, customer focus, and comfort leading a remote-first organization across European and US time zones.
• Familiarity with Go, Clojure, or both, as well as Kafka, Spanner, Datomic, OCI, BuildKit, Buildx, GitHub Actions, sandboxing, microVMs, untrusted workload execution, multi-tenant infrastructure, SLSA, in-toto, SBOMs, VEX, Sigstore, cosign, provenance, signing, or vulnerability scanning is advantageous but not mandatory.
