Manager, Data Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Implement strategies and approaches set forth by senior leadership.

• Oversee daily operations and manage client communications.

• Collaborate with client stakeholders to define business requirements and convert them into actionable analytical solutions.

• Work together with cross-functional and offshore development teams for technical implementation.

• Convert stakeholder requests into structured requirements and provide iterative updates until sign-off.

• Set success metrics and analytical objectives.

• Develop and sustain sales attribution and conversion models.

• Design and execute LLM-based solutions utilizing vector search, embeddings, and agent-style automation.

• Support and reinforce AI-driven workflow agents in production, including event logging and recovery protocols.

• Conduct exploratory data analysis and statistically evaluate model alternatives.

• Write SQL queries in BigQuery and create Python data transformation workflows.

• Validate and reconcile pricing and transaction-level data with source systems.

• Build and maintain rollup dashboards and reporting views.

• Deliver descriptive analytics and diagnostic dashboards using Tableau and lightweight web applications.

• Maintain data pipelines and the architecture of Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery.

• Perform code reviews and audits to ensure reporting accuracy.

• Conduct product and transaction-level analysis to support material-to-inventory matching.

• Analyze conversion and performance metrics.

• Mentor junior team members and engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Maintain shared documentation and quality assurance processes across a distributed team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.

• 6-8 years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, or a related area.

• Proven hands-on ownership of production models and client-facing deliveries.

• Expert proficiency in SQL and Python.

• Working proficiency in JavaScript and Google Apps Script.

• Advanced experience with Google Cloud Infrastructure (BigQuery), data architecture design, and data warehousing.

• Experience with Tableau and custom dashboards/web applications utilizing Google Apps Script and JavaScript.

• Knowledge of statistical modeling, significance testing, exploratory data analysis, and predictive frameworks.

• Familiarity with LLM-based frameworks, vector databases, and agentic AI development practices.

• Ability to translate stakeholder feedback into clear analytical requirements.

• Ability to articulate complex quantitative concepts to non-technical business audiences.

• Comfortable working within onsite-offshore team structures.
