This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Supervise a team of two contract specialists within the Common Collection System team.
• Assist the Director in the daily management of CCS Operator and service provider contracts.
• Manage contract administration, service procurement, change notices, updates, performance tracking, data management, and compliance monitoring.
• Acquire knowledge of Ontario waste diversion regulations and their effects on CCS operations.
• Comprehend and manage Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and related CCS agreements.
• Create and implement teamwork plans for staff to ensure deliverables are met on schedule and within budget.
• Foster relationships with municipal and First Nation communities involved in the CCS.
• Organize the transfer of signed contracts to the CCS Operator.
• Handle changes, amendments, and updates to contracts.
• Keep accurate records of contracts, including dates, deliverables, and obligations.
• Develop tools and calendars to track milestones, reporting, renewals, and significant events.
• Monitor contract performance and gather operational data for reporting, performance management, and compliance purposes.
• Record interactions with collection service providers and material receiving facilities in enterprise systems.
• Assist in contract negotiations, vendor management, and business initiatives.
• Enhance contract administration and service delivery oversight procedures.
• Compile reports, dashboards, presentations, and updates for stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional deliverables, milestones, and resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with the PMO to document the status of projects and contracts.
• Identify risks, issues, and opportunities for process improvement, and escalate recommendations accordingly.
• Manage relationships with collection-system stakeholders and contracted service providers, addressing disputes and escalating risks.
• Supervise administrative and project specialists.
• Mentor, coach, and evaluate the performance of direct reports, including succession planning.
• Collaborate with HR to support team development and staffing needs.
• Participate in the annual planning for the operations budget.
• Prepare timely, data-driven operational reports.
• Contribute to strategic decision-making as a member of the management team.
• Work together with National Operations on technology, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Attend events and third-party meetings as required.
• Lead and support special projects.
• A Bachelor’s degree, college diploma, or equivalent management experience in a relevant field is necessary.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in leading recycling collection systems, including contracts, operating standards, performance metrics, and outcomes.
• Hands-on knowledge of procurement processes is essential.
• Familiarity with First Nations consulting and contracting practices and processes is considered an asset.
• Experience in a waste management operations role is highly regarded.
• Proven ability to manage a team to achieve key deliverables in a fast-paced environment with competing stakeholder priorities.
• Skilled in managing multiple priorities across various stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and Jira.
• Capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment characterized by constant change, growth, and innovation.
• Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
• Previous experience interacting with senior executives, service providers, and municipal representatives.

• A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.
• Residency in Ontario, Canada is mandatory.
• Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
• Ability to coordinate with stakeholders across multiple Canadian time zones.
