Manager, Coding Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee coding workflows to minimize backlogs, address system issues, and enhance revenue cycle processes

• Maintain regular communication with coding personnel, CDI staff, physicians, and other departments

• Track satisfaction levels

• Identify and resolve problems or issues promptly

• Deliver periodic client-status updates to leadership teams

• Organize department staff according to volume and prioritize workloads

• Create and present an executive-level reporting package on a quarterly basis

• Manage direct reports, including conducting performance reviews, fostering team-member development, and implementing corrective actions

• Conduct regular audits to assess coding quality and accuracy

• Collaborate with the team to enhance existing products and services

• Work with the team to create new products and services

• Assist direct reports in the precise application of diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS

• Provide or support direct reports with the interpretation of coding guidelines for accurate code assignment

• Ensure that direct reports comprehend documentation requirements, code assignment, and reimbursement implications

• Advocate for alignment with AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

• Encourage adherence to internal policies and procedures

• Engage in company-sponsored training and education while ensuring direct reports complete mandatory training by set deadlines

• Ensure compliance with privacy and security regulations and safeguard confidential information, including Personal Health Information

• Assess risk, take part in risk-mitigation activities, and rectify deficiencies

• Execute other tasks assigned by leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree

• National coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA

• CCS, CCS-P, CDEO preferred

• Continuous CEUs to maintain credentials and stay updated with coding standards

• Minimum of 3 years experience in medical coding (inpatient, outpatient, or professional services)

• At least 2 years of prior leadership experience in a healthcare environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Capacity to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and uphold quality and accuracy

• Initiative, resourcefulness, and meticulous attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

• Ability to navigate various EMR systems and review handwritten charts

• Capability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

• Ability to work collaboratively with personnel possessing diverse skill sets in a team-oriented environment

• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours daily

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods

• Ability to lift and transport materials weighing up to 20 lbs. on an infrequent basis
