This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team responsible for providing outsourced coding services to critical access hospitals and rural health clinics.
• Direct the precise and timely coding of medical records.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and internal policies.
• Optimize coding workflows for efficiency.
• Recruit, retain, and facilitate team development through training and coaching initiatives.
• Conduct performance evaluations and salary reviews.
• Create documentation for corrective-action plans as necessary.
• Promote employee engagement and foster a collaborative, productive team atmosphere.
• Set and uphold performance standards.
• Provide training on coding procedures, regulations, and best practices.
• Introduce new processes and enhance existing ones.
• Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
• Verify correct coding for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, payer-specific guidelines, and industry coding standards.
• Track coding updates and changes.
• Address coding issues and discrepancies with physicians, providers, billing, and other departments.
• Act as the primary contact for complex coding inquiries.
• Undertake other related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification as CPC, CCA, CCS, CIC, or COC.
• Significant relevant experience in the field.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• Familiarity with relevant software applications and systems, including electronic medical record systems.
• Experience in medical records, claims, or billing areas.
• W2 project-based consultants must provide a computing device that meets industry standards and security best practices.
• Ability to remain productive, responsive, and dependable in a remote working environment.

• Proficient in establishing rapport and credibility with clients and colleagues.
