This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +14 more states.
• Oversee the design and management of cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy.
• Manage the development of scalable architecture that supports applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of cloud solutions.
• Guide the gathering of requirements with stakeholders and vendors.
• Ensure that security management and privacy requirements are integrated into cloud hardware, software, and applications.
• Establish audit standards, controls, and processes to monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure.
• Lead a team responsible for cloud platform engineering, architecture enhancements, and operational excellence.
• Develop and enforce cloud standards, best practices, and roadmap capabilities.
• Collaborate with risk, information security, architecture, and application development teams.
• Own the reliability, availability, and performance of core cloud platform functions.
• Manage department staff, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Perform other duties as assigned and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience gained through applicable knowledge, duties, scope, and skills.
• 2+ years of experience in establishing cloud-specific infrastructure with public cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, and/or Google preferred.
• Cloud certification with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google required.
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation languages such as Shell Scripting, Python, and PowerShell.
• Experience with networking, security concepts, troubleshooting, and observability systems like Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, and CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with serverless technologies such as Lambda, Google Functions, or Azure Functions.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Background in working with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Ability to address technical and business issues effectively.
• Capability to lead and manage others.
• Strong collaboration and team-building skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and make recommendations to upper management.
• Proficient conflict management skills.
• Proven negotiation skills.
