This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Collaborate with the Cloud Center of Excellence, Cloud Architects, engineers, and stakeholders to design and execute cloud solutions.
• Provide practical implementation and support for cloud solutions that adhere to enterprise architecture standards.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and systems focusing on performance, scalability, security, availability, and reliability.
• Design, deploy, and support infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including Compute Engine, networking, and storage.
• Create and maintain cloud landing zones and operational models.
• Develop automation scripts, templates, and frameworks for provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operations.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code and platform automation tools such as Azure Arc, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, and Terraform.
• Monitor cloud environments and performance, analyze cost and performance metrics, troubleshoot incidents, and implement improvements.
• Execute the division's cloud vision, strategy, and sustainable architectural solutions.
• Provide subject matter expertise and devise tailored solutions for technical challenges.
• Assist in the transition of products from development to sustainable production deployment.
• Collaborate with division leaders and external partners on architectural solutions.
• Assess emerging cloud technologies and lead adoption initiatives as appropriate.
• Conduct hands-on implementation and development, including prototyping and coding.
• Evaluate multi-cloud capabilities and maintain a catalog of cloud offerings.
• Support containerized workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Aid in cloud governance, security, and compliance initiatives.
• Assist with cloud migrations and workload onboarding.
• Support AI/ML and data platform initiatives through cloud infrastructure and services.
• Implement cloud automation, standardization, and cost optimization practices.
• Maintain operational runbooks, technical documentation, and resources for cloud operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Additional experience or relevant certifications may substitute for some or all educational requirements.
• Five years of experience in computer systems and infrastructure.
• Two years of specialized experience in cloud engineering.
• Proven technical judgment with the ability to guide decisions across systems, scalability, performance, security, fault tolerance, and related areas.
• Significant knowledge and experience with at least one cloud platform.
• Experience working within small to medium-sized cloud engineering teams.
• Ability to collaborate across organizations and engage with multiple stakeholders.
• Must reside in Ohio or Florida.
• Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel throughout the hospital system.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Strong communication skills to convey accurate information.
• Adhere to standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Must comply with Cleveland Clinic's influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or an approved exemption.
• All employment offers are contingent upon testing for controlled substances.
• Preferred: ITIL Foundations certification.
• Preferred: Experience in Microsoft Azure administration and architecture.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, ExpressRoute, AKS, Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, PowerShell, and scripting.
• Preferred Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, or Terraform Associate.
• Preferred: Over five years of dedicated enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure infrastructure engineering experience in a remote or distributed team setting.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Azure VMs, VNets, Storage, Azure AD/Entra ID, App Services, Functions, AKS, and PaaS databases.
• Preferred: Design of secure, scalable, and cost-effective Azure IaaS, PaaS, and serverless architectures.
• Preferred: Advanced proficiency in Terraform, including complex modules, remote state backends, and configuration drift resolution.
• Preferred: Understanding of Azure networking components, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, VPN/ExpressRoute, and private endpoints.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Docker and AKS, with an understanding of cloud-native networking.
• Preferred: Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Preferred: Advanced skills in PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash, or Python scripting and automation.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure security and governance solutions, including Key Vault, private endpoints, Azure Policy, identity, RBAC, Conditional Access, PIM, encryption, and governance frameworks.
• Preferred: Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Preferred: Excellent asynchronous communication and documentation skills.
