This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess cloud and Kubernetes utilization to uncover idle capacity, inefficient workloads, cost discrepancies, and areas for optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to review recommendations, clarify anticipated impacts, and aid in implementation.
• Create lightweight scripts, API integrations, and repeatable workflows to minimize manual analysis and link relevant data sources.
• Generate reports, dashboards, forecasts, and cost insights to assist teams in grasping spending patterns and planning for future cloud utilization.
• Assist in cloud commitment planning, reservations, savings initiatives, and other strategies aimed at cloud cost efficiency.
• Enhance FinOps practices through standards, documentation, education, and tools that empower product and engineering teams to manage their cloud expenses.
• Work alongside cloud, Kubernetes, engineering, finance, architecture, and product teams.
• Convert cloud usage data into actionable recommendations and measurable results.
• Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in analyzing or optimizing cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, or Kubernetes-based workloads.
• Proficient understanding of cloud billing, usage, cost allocation, forecasting, or cost-optimization principles.
• Capability to utilize Python or another scripting language for basic automation, API interactions, data preparation, or systems integration.
• Experience leveraging data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and formulate clear, actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey technical and financial information to engineering, finance, product, and leadership audiences.
• Familiarity with FinOps, cloud financial management, technology business management, or cloud-cost optimization.
• Knowledge of Apptio Cloudability, VMware CloudHealth, Finout, Adaptive6, or cloud-native cost-management platforms.
• Experience in Kubernetes cost allocation, workload rightsizing, autoscaling, cluster efficiency, or shared-cost analysis.
• Proficient in using SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Datadog, or similar analytical and observability tools.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, developer portals, or engineering automation workflows.
• Exposure to unit economics, AI cost governance, token consumption, model-selection economics, or FinOps Foundation practices and certifications.
• Successful completion of a background investigation.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; Allstate typically does not sponsor employment-based visas for this role.
• Reliable internet service with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
