Manager, Application Scientists

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Lead a successful team of application scientists who contribute to Thermo Fisher Scientific's advancements in proteomics.

• Provide customers with pre- and post-sales technical support, training, and consultative services.

• Work closely with sales teams to enhance market presence and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

• Oversee demonstrations, validations, troubleshooting, and the implementation of intricate scientific workflows.

• Act as a technical authority while staying updated on emerging technologies and applications.

• Foster team development and maintain productive relationships across the organization to meet business goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced Degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience in a related field.

• Preferred areas of study include Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or similar disciplines.

• Additional certifications in management or pertinent technical areas are a plus.

• A valid driver's license is necessary.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in people management or team leadership.

• Extensive knowledge of analytical instrumentation, workflows, and applications.

• Experience with proteomics technologies is advantageous.

• Proven success in customer-facing technical support roles.

• Exceptional presentation and communication skills at all organizational levels.

• Strong business acumen and the ability to facilitate commercial success.

• Experience in developing and delivering technical training programs.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Proficient in English; additional language skills are beneficial.

• Advanced problem-solving and project management skills.

• Strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

• Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory standards.

• Proven ability to mentor and develop technical staff.
