This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Prepare monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly management accounts for a diverse client portfolio.
• Generate management reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses.
• Analyze financial performance to identify business trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Account for inventory movements, gross margins, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and financing arrangements.
• Investigate unusual variances and address client inquiries.
• Prepare annual financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole proprietors.
• Complete and self-review compliance work, encompassing workpapers and reconciliations.
• Develop budgets and basic forecasts.
• Maintain client relationships and convey financial information in a clear manner.
• Prepare logical and well-structured workpapers.
• Manage workflow and time budgets effectively to meet deadlines.
• Record time in real-time on timesheets and meet productivity targets.
• Prepare income tax returns and GST returns.
• Assist with GST-related inquiries.
• Calculate tax obligations for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
• Conduct tax research and apply relevant legislation accordingly.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Take ownership of both individual and team assignments.
• Provide recommendations and timely solutions.
• Assess information, identify obstacles, and propose courses of action.
• Understand role responsibilities, technical requirements, and broader business implications.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in public practice accounting.
• Practical experience with New Zealand accounting and taxation.
• Proven experience in preparing management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals, including inventory, margins, accruals, and prepayments.
• Experience interacting with clients from various industries.
• Familiarity with importing goods, inventory management, and goods in transit is preferred.
• Proficiency in Xero or other cloud-based accounting software is required.
• Full-time availability is essential.
• Monday to Friday work schedule.
• Availability from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM PH time; may start earlier but no later than 7:30 AM and must complete 8 working hours.
