Management Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for critical aspects of the monthly management accounts process.

• Prepare month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, and other necessary accounting adjustments.

• Complete reconciliations of the balance sheet and address any discrepancies.

• Review receivables, aged debt, and customer payment performance.

• Monitor payables and supplier balances.

• Reconcile revenue, cash receipts, and customer payments.

• Assist with revenue recognition and calculations of deferred income.

• Generate monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis.

• Analyze performance in relation to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.

• Investigate variances and identify the commercial drivers influencing performance.

• Provide financial and commercial analysis to aid management decision-making.

• Help enhance financial controls and improve reporting processes.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.

• Assist senior finance leadership with commercial and ad-hoc projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.

• Ideally possess 1–2+ years of experience post-qualification.

• Strong technical expertise in month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Highly proficient in Excel.

• Comfortable managing large volumes of financial data.

• Capable of producing comprehensive financial and commercial analysis.

• Commercially oriented with a keen interest in understanding business performance drivers.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to take ownership of deadlines.

• Able to operate efficiently in a growing, fast-paced organization.

• Experience with high volumes of customer transactions, recurring payments, or complex receivables is advantageous but not mandatory.
