Maintenance Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Execute assigned maintenance and repair duties in accordance with the schedule, delivering friendly and professional service.

• Carry out tasks such as painting, flooring replacement, fixture installation, minor carpentry, HVAC maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and appliance replacement.

• Record the work completed and update work orders using AppFolio.

• Submit receipts promptly.

• Accurately log hours on work orders.

• Communicate issues, necessary parts, and follow-up actions to Coordinators and the Office.

• Perform routine inspections and recommend preventative maintenance and equipment enhancements.

• Ensure all tasks are executed safely to avoid accidents and injuries.

• Respond swiftly to emergency maintenance requests, including after-hours situations.

• Provide maintenance support in Newton, Boone, Grinnell, and/or Des Moines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in renovation, repair, and maintenance work, ideally within a rental property or similar environment.

• Skilled in various trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Excellent communication abilities and professionalism in interactions with tenants, property managers, and team members.

• Proven commitment to safety and compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

• Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts to meet urgent maintenance demands.

• Physical capability and stamina to handle tasks that may require lifting heavy objects, working at heights, and maneuvering in tight spaces.

• Openness to travel as needed.
