Maintenance Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Execute a range of fundamental handyman tasks.

• Measure, cut, drill, nail, and assemble materials according to job specifications.

• Install retail fixtures, railings, doors and their hardware, cabinetry, and décor packages utilizing finish carpentry skills.

• Complete service calls while adhering to appropriate and safe procedures.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues to aid in developing long-term solutions.

• Maintain job schedules and ensure that work adheres to quality standards, original plans, specifications, and deadlines.

• Exhibit general safety knowledge, wear suitable safety gear, use tools safely, and strive to remain accident-free.

• Regularly communicate with clients and the EWB Maintenance Department team to advance projects.

• Keep workspaces clean and organized.

• Take pride in craftsmanship and inspire the same work ethic in colleagues and subcontractors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance (or a related field) is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in commercial construction is required.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail carpentry is required.

• Plumbing experience is advantageous.

• Ability to read blueprints and a solid understanding of construction methods.

• Capable of performing general physical tasks typical of carpentry roles, including lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, and repetitive motion, as well as utilizing hand tools.

• Previous experience in planning, laying out, and executing both interior and exterior carpentry is a plus.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

• A valid California Driver’s License, a clean driving history, reliable transportation, and a clear background check are required.

• Proven track record of working safely and complying with safety standards.

• Willingness to travel to work sites for extended periods, including overnight stays for up to 1 week.

• Completion of basic safety training, equipment training certification, CPR, and OSHA training if not already completed.

• Knowledge of measuring, cutting, drilling, nailing, and assembling materials in accordance with job specifications.

• Advanced carpentry skills honed through years of experience.
