Maintenance Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Execute a range of fundamental handyman duties.

• Measure, cut, drill, nail, and assemble materials according to job specifications.

• Utilize finish carpentry skills to install retail fixtures, railings, doors and hardware, cabinetry, and decorative packages.

• Carry out service calls while adhering to appropriate and safe procedures.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues to aid in developing long-term solutions.

• Maintain job schedules and ensure that work aligns with quality standards, plans, specifications, and deadlines.

• Exhibit general safety knowledge by wearing appropriate safety gear, utilizing tools safely, and maintaining an accident-free record.

• Regularly communicate with clients and the EWB Maintenance Department to facilitate project progression.

• Keep workspaces clean and organized.

• Show integrity, compassion, empathy, and pride in craftsmanship while interacting with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance or related experience is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in commercial construction is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of retail carpentry experience is required.

• Plumbing experience is advantageous.

• Proficient in reading blueprints and knowledgeable about construction methods.

• Capable of performing general physical tasks associated with carpentry, including lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motions, and using hand tools.

• Previous experience in planning, laying out, and executing both interior and exterior carpentry is a plus.

• Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

• A valid California driver’s license, a good driving record, reliable transportation, and a clean background check are required.

• Proven track record of working safely and complying with safety standards.

• Must be willing to accommodate extended travel to job sites and overnight stays for up to one week.

• Completion of onboarding, including basic safety training, equipment training certification, CPR, and OSHA training, is mandatory if not already done.
