Mainframe Service Delivery Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver operational and technical leadership across 14 IBM mainframes

• Hold overall responsibility for mainframe technology and service delivery for all 14 mainframes

• Oversee IBM mainframe operations, production control, and batch scheduling management

• Manage mainframe system software, provide technical support, and ensure currency maintenance

• Monitor and report MIPS/CPU usage

• Administer mainframe networking

• Organize mainframe software procurement processes

• Plan, coordinate, test, and implement mainframe disaster recovery strategies

• Assist DIR customers in replatforming mainframe applications to modern systems

• Facilitate migration and modernization efforts related to mainframe and cloud/hybrid environments

• Ensure compliance with CJIS, IRS Publication 1075, and data security for applications hosted on the mainframe

• Coordinate service delivery across the Austin and San Angelo data center environments

• Maintain operational stability, availability, performance, and technical currency throughout the mainframe ecosystem

⛳️ Requirements

• 10 years of experience, which may include supervisory or leadership roles

• More than 8 years of experience in IBM mainframe operations within production government environments

• Experience in government mainframe operations

• Proficiency in IBM z/OS systems administration and management of system software

• Familiarity with production control and batch scheduling, including CA7, TWS/OPC, or similar enterprise batch scheduling platforms

• Knowledge of mainframe networking, including VTAM/NCP and TCP/IP on z/OS

• Experience in planning, testing, and executing mainframe disaster recovery

• Strong grasp of IBM mainframe production operations and enterprise service delivery

• Background in supporting complex, highly regulated, or government mainframe environments

• Capability to manage mainframe operations across multiple data center locations

• Excellent technical leadership, operational management, incident resolution, and stakeholder communication abilities

• Must be a US Citizen

• Candidates should be local to the Austin and San Angelo Area or willing to relocate

• IBM Certified Systems Operator (z/OS) or an equivalent certification is preferred

• IBM z/OS System Programmer certification is preferred
