Mainframe Performance Management Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee migration initiatives from third-party mainframe performance monitoring tools to OMEGAMON.

• Evaluate customer environments and formulate migration strategies, implementation plans, and effort assessments.

• Install, configure, implement, and resolve issues with performance management solutions within enterprise z/OS environments.

• Review current performance monitoring solutions and establish migration methods that meet customer needs.

• Develop and maintain migration documentation, technical procedures, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.

• Collaborate closely with customers, project managers, contractors, and technical teams to ensure successful project execution.

• Investigate and address performance monitoring issues associated with z/OS subsystems and infrastructure.

• Offer technical consultation and recommendations throughout the migration planning and execution phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in z/OS Mainframe Administration, Mainframe Performance Monitoring, and Performance Management.

• Practical experience with OMEGAMON implementation, administration, support, or migration projects.

• Proficient in TSO/ISPF, REXX Programming, and SMP/E.

• Experience transitioning from BMC MainView, CA Sysview, or ASG TMON to OMEGAMON.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to work effectively in customer-facing roles and cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with performance monitoring and administration of CICS, Db2, IMS, MQ, VTAM, and TCP/IP.

• Basic knowledge and experience in z/OS System Programming.

• Experience in performance monitoring of mainframe storage subsystems.

• Background in technical pre-sales, solution consulting, or customer advisory roles.

• Experience in preparing migration assessments, project estimates, and implementation recommendations.
