Loss Mitigation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist with Collections activities by making phone calls and communicating with borrowers.

• Offer account updates and facilitate payment arrangements and plans.

• Provide information and advice on affordable options for home retention.

• Gather and accurately enter borrower information.

• Convey non-home-retention options and disposition benefits.

• Follow up with borrowers regarding any outstanding requirements.

• Issue compliant letters and disclosures in accordance with investor guidelines.

• Review applications to assess eligibility based on investor criteria.

• Review and approve short-sale closing documents.

• Collaborate with company attorneys to finalize Deed-in-Lieu of Foreclosure documents.

• Communicate with borrowers’ real estate agents and provide guidance on short sales.

• Clarify complete assistance application requirements to borrowers.

• Underwrite completed applications to identify suitable workout options.

• Send communications in alignment with guideline deadlines.

• Analyze income and credit reports to assess eligibility.

• Monitor OCC bulletins, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other investor guidelines to ensure departmental compliance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent professional experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Lotus, and relevant computer systems.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

• Skilled problem solver and troubleshooter.

• Advanced understanding of Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Property Preservation, and related policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of Title and the preparation of Loan Modification documents.

• Precise data entry skills.

• Above-average customer service capabilities.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Proficient in problem-solving and critical thinking.

• Solid analytical abilities.

• Capability to apply basic mathematical concepts, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

• Proficient in using telephones, copiers, fax machines, computers, the internet, and other company equipment.

• Sufficient English-language reading, writing, and communication skills to perform job functions effectively.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the employer participates in E-Verify.
