This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and direct a designated Loss Mitigation function, which includes Underwriting or Closing.
• Ensure the attainment of productivity, quality, cycle time, and service level objectives.
• Track pipeline performance and resolve process bottlenecks to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage escalated issues related to borrowers, clients, investors, and operations.
• Maintain a deep understanding of Loss Mitigation products and programs, such as loan modifications, deferrals, partial claims, repayment plans, and FHA, VA, USDA, GSE, and proprietary retention solutions.
• Provide insights on intricate eligibility, decision-making, documentation, and execution requirements.
• Assist in the rollout of new investor products, regulatory mandates, and business initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to requirements set by investors, insurers, clients, federal and state regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Quality teams regarding audit results and process enhancements.
• Evaluate quality performance and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
• Develop and uphold operational controls to mitigate risks.
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, borrower experience, and operational effectiveness.
• Engage in system enhancements, automation projects, testing activities, and process redesign efforts.
• Utilize performance reporting and analytics to foster operational improvements.
• Aid in the formulation of policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Supervise supervisors, team leaders, and/or individual contributors.
• Mentor and develop staff, build bench strength and succession plans, and promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Execute all other duties as required.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in mortgage servicing or Loss Mitigation.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience is necessary.
• Proven expertise in loss mitigation underwriting, closing, or execution functions.
• Extensive knowledge of investor and insurer programs, including FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and proprietary products.
• Advanced subject matter expertise in Loss Mitigation.
• Strong grasp of regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership and coaching capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capacity to manage complex operational challenges and deliver results.
• Experience in implementing operational or technology initiatives is preferred.
