Long Term Disability Claims Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Independently manage a portfolio of Long-Term Disability claims in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.

• Perform initial and ongoing interviews with claimants.

• Acquire and assess medical records.

• Make prompt and ethical decisions regarding claims.

• Engage with claimants, employers, and medical professionals via phone and email to collect information regarding LTD claims and relevant state and federal benefits.

• Collaborate with case managers, nurse case managers, vocational case managers, and consulting physicians.

• Analyze complex medical records to determine approval durations and future action plans throughout the claim process.

• Deliver outstanding customer service while proactively identifying customer needs and opportunities.

• Complete a comprehensive training program to enhance new skills.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, or at least an Associate degree in place of required experience.

• 3-5 years of claims experience directly related to the specific responsibilities of this position; or, for candidates with an Associate degree, 0-1 year of claims experience relevant to the specific duties of this role.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Experience in disability and/or absence management is a plus.
