Long Term Disability Claims Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Manage a caseload of Long-Term Disability claims independently from intake to resolution.

• Collaborate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals via phone and email to collect and evaluate disability and state/federal benefits information.

• Conduct initial interviews and ongoing discussions with claimants.

• Review medical records and work alongside clinical and vocational experts.

• Ensure timely and ethical claim determinations that align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Partner with case managers, nurse case managers, vocational specialists, and consulting physicians.

• Analyze complex medical records to establish appropriate claim durations.

• Assist in guiding action planning throughout the claim lifecycle.

• Identify client needs and opportunities while nurturing relationships with claimants, employers, and internal stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.

• At least 1 year of experience in long-term disability claims directly related to the responsibilities of this role.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Exceptional organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple tasks.

• Experience in mentoring or coaching newer examiners is preferred.

• A mindset focused on continuous improvement, including process optimization, efficiency, and quality is preferred.

• Familiarity with predictive analytics and AI tools is preferred.
