Long Term Disability Claims Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage a caseload of Long-Term Disability claims independently from intake to resolution.

• Collaborate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals through phone and email to gather and evaluate disability status and pertinent state/federal benefit information.

• Conduct initial and ongoing claimant interviews for the purpose of claim assessment.

• Analyze medical documentation and work alongside clinical and vocational experts.

• Ensure timely and ethical claim decisions in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Work in conjunction with case managers, nurse case managers, vocational specialists, and consulting physicians.

• Assess complex medical records and determine suitable claim durations.

• Facilitate ongoing action planning throughout the life of the claim.

• Provide outstanding customer service and foster relationships with claimants, employers, and internal stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience can substitute for a Bachelor's degree).

• At least 1 year of experience in long-term disability claims directly related to the responsibilities of this position.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Exceptional organizational skills with the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Experience in mentoring or coaching newer examiners is preferred.

• A mindset focused on continuous improvement, including process optimization, efficiency, and quality is preferred.

• Familiarity with predictive analytics and AI tools is preferred.
