LoL Trading Analyst – Esports, Odds & Market Performance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Analyze MOBA match behavior to enhance pricing accuracy and market efficiency.

• Perform variance analyses and evaluate trading performance.

• Validate and oversee odds models for MOBA titles under actual trading conditions.

• Identify model drift, pricing inefficiencies, and performance anomalies impacting P&L.

• Generate actionable insights to assist traders and inform trading decisions.

• Monitor competitor offerings and pinpoint opportunities to refine trading strategies.

• Analyze match outcomes, meta shifts, patch changes, draft trends, and gameplay developments.

• Assess League of Legends-specific elements such as champion drafts, item builds, map objectives, team compositions, gold advantages, and macro strategies.

• Determine how gameplay, patch, or rule changes could influence models and proactively address potential issues.

• Recommend improvements to pricing models through new algorithms or investigations with external feed providers as necessary.

• Convert analytical findings into clear narratives suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Document processes and findings to a high standard, ensuring accessibility for stakeholders.

• Assist with ad hoc trading and market analysis requests from the MOBA trading team.

• Support modeling and trading teams by analyzing MOBA match data and market behavior to enhance odds accuracy, market efficiency, and operational decision-making.

• Collaborate closely with live and pre-match traders across MOBA titles, especially League of Legends.

• Provide insights that directly influence P&L across GRID’s MOBA betting products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in sports betting, trading, quantitative analysis, or a related area.

• In-depth understanding of League of Legends, encompassing champion mechanics, item builds, drafting, map objectives, team compositions, macro strategies, tournament formats, and player behavior.

• Strong knowledge of the professional League of Legends ecosystem, including regional leagues, tournament structures, current meta trends, and gameplay changes driven by patches.

• Solid grasp of trading fundamentals such as pricing, margin, overround, and risk models.

• Strong statistical, mathematical, and analytical abilities, with practical applications in pricing and risk management.

• Experience in statistical modeling and data analysis.

• Keen attention to detail and the capacity to retain complex information.

• Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new environments.

• Knowledge of other competitive MOBA titles and esports ecosystems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline.

• Familiarity with machine-learning concepts and their applications.

• Proficiency in SQL or experience with Python, R, or similar analytical tools.

• Ability to work within the European timezone.
