Logistics Specialist – Ship Maintenance Support, Repair Planning Cell

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the routine maintenance logistics support and planning efforts for the Military Sealift Command.

• Provide support to the depot-level overhaul engineering planning team and the Repair Planning Cell (RPC).

• Review work packages related to ship availability to identify necessary materials, equipment, and services for Government-Furnished requirements.

• Prepare and submit procurement packages, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and standards.

• Oversee procurement actions and address issues that may hinder the timely delivery of materials and equipment.

• Keep accurate listings of Government-Furnished Materials (GFM) and Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) for each vessel availability work package.

• Create and maintain tracking systems for the delivery schedules of GFM/GFE.

• Collaborate with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and MSC N4 Logistics representatives regarding delivery timelines and any delays.

• Analyze GFM reports and keep the PPE and APC teams updated on procurement progress.

• Report missing or delayed GFM issues and work together on alternative procurement solutions.

• Work with APC teams to address support requirements and refresh project schedules.

• Manage all communication, documentation, and reporting related to procurement activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a Secret Clearance.

• High school diploma with over 7 years of experience; an Associate's degree with over 5 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with more than 3 years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrated experience in data entry and logistics functions within a related field.

• Familiarity with FAR/DFAR and other pertinent contractual standards.

• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of Military Sealift Command Logistics processes.

• Knowledge of applicable government contracting regulations.

• Preferred: Strong data entry capabilities and experience with the Shipboard Automated Maintenance Management (SAMM) database.

• Preferred: Experience with MSC Logistics software such as CMLS, PMT, Protrack, and ShipCLIP.

• Preferred: Familiarity with MSC logistics procedures including Material and Service Order Requests, ERP functions, SPS contracting, and GFM Reporting.
