📋 Description

• Establish robust, long-lasting relationships with farmers.

• Oversee the entire livestock procurement process for sheep, beef, dairy, and venison.

• Recognize supply sources and negotiate pricing.

• Organize delivery and payment processes.

• Address and resolve procurement-related challenges.

• Direct livestock planning and engage with suppliers.

• Provide insights on market trends and new opportunities.

• Assist in product, program, and brand development.

• Ensure quality stock and advocate for the procurement strategy.

• Expand a dependable supplier network.

• Discover new suppliers and aid in practical business growth strategies.

• Collaborate with producers to enhance on-farm results.

• Anticipate supply needs and evaluate livestock quality.

• Manage procurement in accordance with market conditions and program requirements.

• Deliver timely support to suppliers.

• Utilize digital tools and reporting systems to share insights and monitor outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of the livestock industry through previous experience, preferably with a strong background in store stock.

• Capability to cultivate trusted relationships that provide long-term value for both suppliers and the business.

• Experience in forecasting supply, evaluating livestock quality, and managing procurement to meet market conditions and program requirements.

• Clear and professional communication abilities.

• Aptitude for providing timely assistance to suppliers.

• Knowledge of compliance with assurance programs and animal welfare standards.

• Strong understanding of livestock procurement, pricing, and transport coordination.

• Ability to identify supply opportunities and convert insights into actionable strategies.

• Proactive in promoting programs, values, and brand presence in the region.

• Confidence in utilizing digital tools and reporting systems to share insights and track results.

• Dedication to health and safety, animal welfare, and sustainable farming practices.

• Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with a keen eye for stock.

• Must reside in the greater South Otago area, primarily servicing suppliers in the Owaka catchment.

• Solid understanding of the needs within the South Otago region.
