This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ecuador.
• Oversee assigned civil litigation cases from their initial stages through discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparations.
• Ensure accurate and organized maintenance of case files, client documents, discovery materials, correspondence, and litigation records.
• Review, analyze, summarize, and systematically arrange pleadings, discovery responses, medical records, and other documents related to the case.
• Assist attorneys with preparing complaints, interrogatories, requests for production, and other materials related to discovery.
• Gather, organize, and monitor medical records, non-party records, and relevant supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with witnesses, experts, clients, and other participants in the case.
• Prepare attorneys for client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Aid in deposition preparation, including the organization of documents, exhibits, records, and case summaries.
• Support federal court litigation by adhering to applicable filing, case-management, and documentation standards.
• Acquire knowledge of and adhere to the firm's client-specific documents, naming conventions, workflows, and document-management processes.
• A Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies, or possession of a recognized Paralegal Certificate.
• A minimum of 3 years of practical civil litigation paralegal experience.
• Significant experience in supporting U.S. litigation related to personal injury cases.
• Familiarity with pleadings, interrogatories, discovery processes, depositions, hearings, and trial preparations.
• Experience in handling medical records and non-party records in litigated cases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to manage deadlines, organize multiple active cases, and work independently following training.
• Experience in personal injury defense or broader civil defense litigation.
• Familiarity with federal court litigation.
• Prior experience supporting a U.S. law firm in a remote capacity.
• Proven experience in communicating with and coordinating experts and witnesses.
