This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile, +6 more countries.
• Oversee multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
• Provide support with litigation and administrative legal responsibilities.
• Engage with opposing counsel regarding litigation issues.
• Inform judicial offices of significant case developments, including settlements.
• Develop and sustain a contact list for judges and judicial assistants.
• Keep case files and documentation organized, complete, and accurate.
• Liaise with judicial assistants concerning case inquiries, updates, and administrative topics.
• Analyze newly assigned cases to determine the appropriate judge using the case number.
• Prepare and dispatch conferral emails to opposing counsel.
• Draft initial pleadings and litigation-related legal documents utilizing established templates.
• Conduct research and add judges to the case management system.
• Maintain logs of litigation requests, communications, and follow-ups.
• Accurately execute e-filing tasks within relevant deadlines.
• Assist with case setup following the filing of new lawsuits.
• Compose proposed orders, cover letters to judges, and court-related correspondence.
• Prepare witness lists, exhibit lists, and other necessary case documentation.
• Support civil litigation and first-party property damage cases.
• Draft motions to compel, including those related to securing deposition dates.
• Proficient or highly skilled in both English and Spanish.
• Prior experience in a legal setting, ideally in support of litigation matters.
• Experience in civil litigation.
• Knowledge of first-party property damage cases.
• Familiarity with e-filing processes.
• Previous involvement in supporting litigation matters in the United States.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, proposed orders, or other litigation documents.
• Preferred experience in communicating with opposing counsel, courts, judges, or judicial assistants.
• Familiarity with U.S. litigation procedures and legal terminology is a plus.
• Formal paralegal certification or licensing is not mandatory.
• Availability from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Willingness to work during EST/EDT hours.
• Experience with Clio, Dropbox, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and VoIP calling software.
• Capability to use calling software via a configured work computer without specialized calling hardware.
